Juicetopia
Inspired by a friend, we’ve started our first juice fast. Inspired by on-line strangers, we’ve decided to keep a diary of it.
Sara’s Juice Fast: Day 1
8am: Sara’s fast begins. One cup of green tea. “This is easy!”
10am: orange juice
11:30am: vegetable juice
1:13pm: “The hunger is going to kill me. I’m going to die.”
1:30pm: 2nd veggie juice. Still alive.
3pm: mint tea
5:30pm: headache starts
8:30pm: “dinner” of vegetable broth (broth from boiling zucchini, garlic, green beans, cabbage) and veggie juice (carrot, celery, zucchini, cabbage, kale, parsley, cucumber)
10pm: “dessert” of fruit juice (apple, pear, grape, lemon, ginger)
10:30pm: headache ends
11pm: chamomile tea
Ron’s Juice Fast: Day 1
What I “ate” today:
- 1 Odwalla bar
- 1 small Odwalla Superfood juice
- 1 large Bolthouse Farms Vedge (tomato++) juice
- water
- vegetable broth
- vegetable juice (see above)
- fruit juice (see above)
- tea
I feel basically normal at the end of day 1–though I’m slightly hungry and could go for some ice cream and/or chocolate (but I already said I felt normal ;) ).

WHY ???? Other than peeing a lot– WHY????
Gram – welcome to the blog! :) I’ll try to explain our juice fast reasoning, although in the end I think it just comes down to a “why not?” The theory is that doing a juice fast once or twice a year helps detoxify the body and give your digestive system a rest. We are still skeptical about that, but wanted to give it a try nonetheless to see what the experience would be like. It was certainly an experience! Hope to see you more often on leftbraned….xoxoxoxo…..
