The Fast (Me) and The Furious (Officer Goodfriend)
For those who have been asking about my second traffic ticket, here’s an update.
My wonderful attorney, Jeffrey Weinstein, negotiated the second ticket down to a zero-point offense. That makes a grand total of 8 points that he has made disappear. Mind you, it was still painfully expensive (considering the hefty fines, surcharges and attorney fees)… but “painfully expensive fines” beat “painfully expensive fines plus painfully expensive insurance hikes.”
And now that I’ve used up my two Get Out of Jail Free cards (in NJ, you can only plead a traffic ticket down 2 times in any 5-year period), I’ll have to use my upcoming birthday wish and gift requests (read: radar detector) to keep myself ticket-free for a while. Note to friends: Expect me to arrive late[r] over the next 4.5 years.
